Vanix EVSE is a mobile application developed by Vanix Technologies Private Limited for pairing, configuring, controlling, and monitoring smart EV (Electric Vehicle) charging stations offered by Vanix. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app handles, how it is used, and the rights of users under relevant data protection laws.

2. What Information We Handle

Vanix EVSE collects and processes only the information necessary to authenticate your access, manage your paired charging devices, and facilitate vehicle charging operations. Here is the breakdown:

We collect and handle:

User Account Data: Name, email address, mobile number, and address when you create an account or complete registration.
Internet Connectivity: Used to communicate with the secure Vanix backend API to fetch real-time charging status, start/stop charging transactions, and update profiles.
App Usage Analytics: Collected via Firebase for performance tracking, error logging, and crash analytics.

Data from EV Charging Devices:

The app interacts with and manages data related to your paired EV charging units. This includes:

EV Charger identification details (MAC Address, Device ID, and status)
Charging transaction states (Connector status, RFID tag logs)
Energy consumption utilization (kWh, charging duration, and voltage data)
System alerts and charging history logs

All device transactions and telemetry are transmitted securely to our backend server over HTTPS.

3. Use of Data

The data is used to:

Authenticate user accounts and secure sessions
Onboard, pair, configure, and control EV chargers remotely
Start and stop EV charging sessions through the mobile app
Display live and historical charging session logs, energy utilization, and statistics
Send push notifications (FCM) regarding charging status and charger alerts
Improve app reliability and troubleshoot bugs via performance analytics

We do not use your data for advertising or share it with third-party marketers.

4. Third-Party Services

Vanix EVSE uses:

Firebase (Google): For crash reporting, server communication tokens, and application usage diagnostics.

These services may collect anonymized data per their own privacy policies.

5. Data Storage and Security

All user and charger transmission data is sent securely via HTTPS. We store your account and charging telemetry on our secure server infrastructure managed by Vanix Technologies. We implement appropriate technical and organizational safeguards to protect this information.

6. Data Retention

User account details are retained as long as the account remains active or required for verification.
Charging history logs and energy consumption metrics are archived as per legal accounting requirements or client pairing agreements.

7. Children’s Privacy

Vanix EVSE is not designed for or targeted at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. User Rights & Account Deletion

As a user, you have the right to request deletion of your account and removal of personal details at any time.

You can request account deletion in two ways:

In-App Deletion: Log into the app, navigate to the Profile/Settings screen, select "Delete Account", and confirm your request.
Web-Based Deletion: If you have already uninstalled the application or cannot log in, you can submit your account deletion request online through our web page: https://vanixtechnologies.com/delete-account.

Upon request, we will anonymize or purge your personal profile details (Name, Email, Mobile). Paired vehicles and charger bindings will be cleared immediately. Historical charger session numbers are kept in an anonymized format for auditing purposes.

11. Permissions Disclosure

Vanix EVSE requests the following permissions on your mobile device:

Camera Access: Required to scan QR codes on Vanix EV chargers for quick onboarding and pairing.
Location Access: (For Bluetooth/Wi-Fi scanning) Required by Android to scan for and connect to nearby charging units during local network configuration. We do not track or upload your phone's personal GPS position.
Notification Access: Used to display charging status updates, alerts, and transaction statuses.

12. Battery Optimization Exemption

Vanix EVSE may request to be exempted from Android's battery optimization settings. This ensures the app can maintain a reliable network link to track active charging sessions and receive real-time charging complete/warning notifications even when your phone is in background standby mode.
